The pandemic seems to have raised awareness, and more and more of us want to turn to a more eco-friendly fashion. However, it can seem not easy to know where to start and how to find your way around. 

What are my 3 simple tips for dressing more eco-friendly? 

1. Buy less... but better

Here are a few tips to help you get there:  

• Before shopping, start by sorting out your closets and donating or selling the clothes you no longer wear.
• Make a precise list of your needs and imagine your ideal closet. 
• Choose timeless basics when shopping.
• Choose quality over quantity, buying less allows you to invest in beautiful and durable pieces
• Learn to care for your clothes by carefully following the care instructions.

2. Choose more eco-responsible materials

My second piece of advice is to get into the habit of looking at the labels before you buy to verify the clothes' composition. As far as possible, avoid the most polluting textile materials such as polyester, polyamide, elastane, or acrylic, which are derived from plastic.

Here are some materials to be favored: 

• organic cotton

Its manufacture requires less water and does not require the use of pesticides and chemicals harmful to humans and the environment.

• linen

It is a natural fiber that requires very little fertilizer and pesticides. The good news is that it is one of the few textiles that France produces!

• cellulosic fabrics

Cellulosic fabrics like lyocell or modal are made from natural sources (wood, leaves, or branches of plants). There is even cellulosic satin. Buying second-hand is a great alternative to access more expensive pieces in normal times while giving a second life to clothes! 

In addition, some brands design their pieces from fabric scraps or dormant stocks. It is also a more ecological option. 

Finally, today there are particularly innovative textiles made from 100% recycled yarns. For example, Ozaelle sports headbands are made of 75% recycled polyamide and 25% Roica (the first and only recycled elastomer with over 58% of its composition coming from post-industrial waste).

3.Favor the "made in France"
